The Manufacturing Engineer is the key person between Design and Series Production. They are responsible for designing reliable production lines and always making proposals to improve existing ones.
Regardless of role or team, we look for candidates with positive energy as well as the ability to independently orient themselves in an unstructured environment and follow through on problems that need to be solved.
Role responsibilities:
- Plan and coordinate production and repair activities.
- Oversee the collection of clinical team’s needs (e.g. ensuring timely supply of systems or spare parts).
- Coordinate the repair of defective systems in the field, in collaboration with Quality and the Investigation teams.
- Manage component inventories and prepare supplier orders.
- Monitor the laboratory environment and ensure the conformity of equipment used for production and repair activities, in collaboration with the Quality team.
- Define and validate manufacturing processes to ensure repeatability, reliability, and robustness.
- Propose continuous improvement initiatives like reducing production times, improving yield, and implementing lean manufacturing.
- Draft and update production and repairs documents (e.g. work instruction and device history records) and ensure the training of manufacturing technicians.
- Monitor and resolve non-conformities as well as define corrective actions as needed
- Document all performed tasks rigorously in quality records in both French and English, in full accordance with La Science’s Quality System.
Key qualifications:
- Master's degree in Industrial Engineering or equivalent.
- Creative, resourceful, and meticulous, with an excellent systems-oriented mindset to understand the connections between the various technical domains, including electronics, optics, mechanics, and software.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, in French and English.
- Strong ability to manage priorities and work autonomously on assignments.
Preferred qualifications:
- Knowledge of ISO 13485 standard is a strong asset.
