We're looking for a People Operations Specialist to join our team as a hands-on executor and program owner who keeps our people operations running smoothly across a global workforce. The ideal candidate is highly organized, process-oriented, and energized by building and improving programs that directly shape the employee experience. This role may be based in CA, NY, or NC. 

Role Responsibilities:

  • Own the onboarding program end-to-end, partnering with IT and the Office Manager to ensure every new hire is set up for success from day one. Including coordinating logistics, tracking completion, and continuously improving onboarding experience
  • Maintain and improve core People Operations processes including onboarding and offboarding workflows, HRIS data integrity, and internal documentation
  • Maintain records and infrastructure for employee training and credentialing programs, ensuring completion tracking, renewal reminders, and documentation are accurate and up to date
  • Support payroll compliance, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with applicable federal and state requirements
  • Track and report on People Operations program data, including onboarding completion, training and credential status, headcount changes, and benefits enrollment 
  • Liaise with our French HR partners to support local employment needs, stay current on French labor requirements, and ensure a consistent employee experience for our France-based team 
  • Maintain People policies and ensure documentation stays current and accessible across our California, North Carolina, France, and EOR-supported locations
  • Manage the People Operations support queue, triaging and responding to employee requests and questions in a timely manner and tracking resolution
  • Serve as a responsive point of contact for employee questions related to onboarding, benefits, policies, and day-to-day operations, and escalating complex matters as appropriate

Key Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of people operations experience, preferably in a startup or high-growth environment
  • Strong working knowledge of California employment law and HR compliance requirements
  • Experience with HRIS platforms and a track record of maintaining clean, accurate employee data
  • Sound judgment and discretion when handling sensitive or confidential employee matters

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Rippling or similar HRIS/payroll platforms
  • Experience supporting employees across multiple jurisdictions, including international or EOR-based workforce management
  • PHR, SHRM-CP, or equivalent HR certification
  • Prior start up experience
  • Written and verbal communication skills in both English and French

Salary/Pay Range:

Science is required under California law to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. We determine your level based on your interview performance and make an offer based on the indicated salary band. The base salary range for this full-time position is $110,000 - $145,000 annually + equity + benefits. Within the range, individual pay is determined by several factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Please keep in mind that the equity portion of the offer is not included in these numbers.
