My device fails to turn on

If the screen fails to come on, or partially lights up and then disappears when powering on the device, charge the device for 5 minutes and it should boot up automatically.

My device failed to connect to all addresses

Error: failed to connect to all addresses; last error: UNKNOWN: ipv4:10.40.XX.XXX:647: Failed to connect to remote host: No route to host

This means a Synapse device at the given IP could not be found. To fix:

  • Double check the IP address.
  • Ensure SciFi 2 and your host PC are on the same WiFi network, or that their networks are bridged.
  • Restart SciFi 2.

How do I interpret the status message on my device?

You can find the full list of status messages in the Synapse documentation.

For impedance measuring, kInternalError and kQueryFailed are the most likely status messages, both of which indicate an issue with the measuring algorithm. In either case, contact support@science.xyz with your query JSON, the exact probe, and your SciFi 2 serial number.

The query command hangs and never returns

This is likely due to a software error. Contact support@science.xyz with your query JSON, the hardware involved, and steps to reproduce the issue.
