We are seeking a strongly motivated Cell Culture Lab Intern to join our team. The successful candidate will play a critical role in the operation of our Stem Cell Clean Room, which produces high quality induced pluripotent stem cell lines and related downstream applications. This job will entail supporting operational excellence of stem cell culture research including but not limited to: lab organization and basic maintenance, restocking, inventory and support with basic stem cell culture work as needed. In addition, the candidate will perform quality control assays such as bioburden and sterility testing. This part time position is perfect for junior biologists and aspiring scientists with strong attention to detail and organizational skills looking to make an impact at an early stage of our company’s development.
Role responsibilities:
- Maintain clean room organization and cleanliness
- Execute bioburden and sterility testing
- Restock consumables and support with inventory checks
- Help with basic cell culture tasks as needed (including media changes, passages, cell banking etc.)
- Adhere to clean room operational procedures
Key qualifications:
- Experience working in lab environment
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to excellence in a clean room environment
- Organizational skills and ability to maintain a clean work space
- Familiarity with mammalian cell culture
Preferred qualifications:
- Hands on experience with mammalian cell culture
- Experience with iPSCs
- Experience with laboratory automation
- Familiarity with aseptic technique and sterile practices
- Flexible schedule
Salary/Pay Range:
For individuals hired to work in California, Science is required by law to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. We determine your level based on your interview performance and make an offer based on geo-located salary bands. The base salary range for this full-time position is $19.18-$21 per hour + benefits. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Please keep in mind that the equity portion of the offer is not included in these numbers.
