I am excited to announce three important and outstanding additions to the Science Corporation leadership team.
Tricia Gugler will serve as Chief Financial Officer and Alex Feerst will serve as Chief Legal Officer. They will both report directly to me. Joe Mornin will serve as General Counsel and will report to the Chief Legal Officer. All three have recently begun working with us and are based in our headquarters in Alameda, California.
I am thrilled to have them on the team. Their experience and skill will mean a lot in our efforts to help create and enable the future of the brain-computer interface industry.
Tricia Gugler is a senior finance executive with thirty years of experience in the technology industry and has a strong combination of operational and strategic skills. She was recently the CFO of WHOOP, a wearable technology company, where she helped lead the company to dramatically increase its revenue and valuation. Prior to that, Tricia was the Vice President of Finance at both Stitch Fix and ThirdLove. She served in an advisory role to Science prior to assuming the role of CFO. Tricia’s experience also includes roles in investor relations, global sales operations, and accounting. She graduated with honors from the University of Massachusetts Amherst, where she earned a BA in Business Administration and obtained her CPA shortly thereafter.
Alex Feerst is a technology lawyer who has worked with artificial intelligence, robotics, and neurotech startups. He was previously General Counsel at Neuralink and before that Head of Legal at Medium. In 2021, he co-founded the Digital Trust and Safety Partnership, the first industry-led initiative to research and establish best practices for advancing and assessing online safety. He serves on the board of the AI & Democracy Foundation and on the editorial board of the Journal of Online Trust & Safety, and is a non-residential fellow at Stanford’s Center for Internet & Society. He has a JD and BA from Columbia University and a PhD in English Literature from Duke University.
Joe Mornin is a technology lawyer and software engineer who has represented some of the world’s leading technology companies in matters involving intellectual property, privacy, security, consumer protection, regulatory affairs, internal investigations, crisis management, and litigation. Before joining Science, among other roles, he was Associate General Counsel at Meta, and before that was an attorney at Cooley LLP. He was a Judicial Law Clerk for the Honorable Edward J. Davila, U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California, and has a JD from UC Berkeley and a BA from Reed College.
We’re very excited and fortunate to have them at Science. Our work is just getting started.
